Provides information about the Replication Server configuration set information metrics.
The number of threads per supplier for change processing.
If this metric increases suddenly, it might be due to an increased load on the replication server due to new change logs to transport or apply. Consider limiting the number of threads per supplier, using one of these methods:
1, If you want to use autotuning, set replautotune to 1. If orclreplicamaxthreads is set to more than 20, reduce it to 10/20. This will limit the total number of threads used for change processing and transporting changes.
2. If you do not want to use autotuning, set replautotune to 0. Set Orclthreadspersupplier;apply and Orclthreadspersupplier;Trasport to desired number and restart replication server. This will keep the number of threads used for transport and the number used for change processing constant.
For more information see the tuning chapter and the replication attributes chapter in Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle Internet Directory.
The number of threads per supplier for transporting changes.
If this metric increases suddenly, it might be due to an increased load on the replication server due to new change logs to transport or apply. Consider limiting the number of threads per supplier, using one of these methods:

To specify or change warning or critical threshold values for each "Supplier of changelog " object, use the Edit Thresholds page. See Editing Thresholds for information on accessing the Edit Thresholds page.
If this metric is increasing at a high rate, it might indicate:
1. The number of transport threads per Supplier is set very high and the replication server is not running, so change logs are not being processed. Consider setting orclreplicmaxthreads lower (if using autotuning) or setting both Orclthreadspersupplier;apply and Orclthreadspersupplier;Transport lower (if not using autotuning). Ensure that the replication server is running.
2. Orclsizelimit, which determines the number of changes transported from supplier to consumer, is set too high, allowing faster new change log growth. Consider setting orclsizelimit lower. Ensure that the number of replication apply threads is adequate to handle a large volume of changes. Consider setting orclchangeretrycount to a lower value to provide more resource to change log processing. Keep in mind that reducing the value of orclchangeretrycount might increase HIQ.
For more information see the tuning chapter and the replication attributes chapter in Oracle Fusion Middleware Administrator's Guide for Oracle Internet Directory.

If warning or critical threshold values are currently set for any "Supplier of changelog " object, those thresholds can be viewed on the Metric Detail page for this metric.
To specify or change warning or critical threshold values for each "Supplier of changelog " object, use the Edit Thresholds page. See Editing Thresholds for information on accessing the Edit Thresholds page.
If this metric is very large, analyze the retry logs to see the reason for conflict and try to resolve it. Make sure orclconflresolution is set to 1. If the same change logs have been retried repeatedly, consider whether orclchangeretrycount is set appropriately.

The following table shows how often the metric's value is collected and compared against the default thresholds. The 'Consecutive Number of Occurrences Preceding Notification' column indicates the consecutive number of times the comparison against thresholds should hold TRUE before an alert is generated.
Target Version | Evaluation and Collection Frequency | Upload Frequency | Operator | Default Warning Threshold | Default Critical Threshold | Consecutive Number of Occurrences Preceding Notification | Alert Text |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
All Versions | Every 5 Minutes | After Every Sample | > | Not Defined | Not Defined | 1 | Oracle Directory Replication Server Memory Usage %value% crossed warning (%warning_threshold%) or critical (%critical_threshold%) threshold |
If this metric is very high during normal replication, it might indicate:
1. There are many change logs to apply and updateschedule is set to 0 (immediate processing). Consider increasing updateschedule to 1 or 2.
2. There are many change logs in HIQ and orclhiqschedule is set to a short time. Consider increasing orclhiqschedule to 10-15 minutes.
If this metric is high during bootstrapping, it might indicate:
1. The attributes orclreplmaxworkerthread, orclthreadspersupplier;apply, and orclthreadspersupplier;transport are set inappropriately high. Consider decreasing these values. Also consider setting replautotune to 1.
2. The consumer is a bottleneck and you are bootstrapping an entry larger than 50K. Consider using bulkload instead of bootstrapping. Stop replication server on the consumer before the bulkload and restart when finished.

If this metric is very large, it might indicate:
1. Change logs are not being retried a sufficient number of times. Consider increasing orclchangeretrycount to 4-10.
2. HIQ change log processing is too slow because orclhiqschedule is set too high. Consider setting orclhiqschedule lower.
3: Many conflicts occurred while applying change logs. Analyze the change logs. If appropriate, use the compare and reconcile tool to check the difference between directories. Move the change logs to the purge queue or retry queue, as appropriate.
