This chapter describes Oracle Virtual Directory metrics.
The category specifies the metrics about the currently configured Adapters.
This metric specifies the total number connections opened by a particular Adapter since last collection.
This metric specifies the total number of connections processed by the Adapter.
This metric specifies the total number of connections reused by the Adapter.
This metric specifies the total number of Add operations performed by a particular Adapter since last collection.
This metric specifies the total number of bind operations by a particular Adapter.
This metric specifies the total number of delete operations performed by a particular Adapter since last collection.
This metric specifies the total number of Modify operations performed by a particular Adapter since last collection.
This metric specifies the total number of operations renamed by a particular Adapter.
This metric specifies the total number of Search operations performed by a particular Adapter since last collection.
This metric specifies Average Time a particular adapter took to complete a search request since the last Oracle Virtual Directory start.
This category provides information about distinct IP Address that are connected to Oracle Virtual Directory
This metric specifies the Current Open connections from a particular IP Address.
The category provides information about currently connected users
This metric specifies the number of connections that are currently open for a particular user.
Set connection Activity Limits by selecting Administration from the Oracle Virtual Directory menu and then Server Properties. Select the Enable Quota Enforcement option on the Server Properties page, edit the Maximum Client Connections, Maximum Connections per Authenticated Subject, and Maximum Connections per IP Address settings, and then click Apply.

This category provides information about CPU and memory usage.
This metric specifies the percentage of the CPU that Oracle Virtual Directory is using.
This metric specifies the percentage of the CPU Idle Time on the Oracle Virtual Directory Host.
This metric specifies the percentage of the CPU that components other than Oracle Virtual Directory are using.
This metric specifies the amount of Free Memory on the Oracle Virtual Directory Server Host.
This metric specifies the Memory Consumed (in MB) by components other than Oracle Virtual Directory.
This metric specifies the Total Available Memory on the Oracle Virtual Directory Server Host.
This metric specifies the percentage of Memory Consumed by the Oracle Virtual Directory Server.
This metric specifies the percentage of Free Memory on the Oracle Virtual Directory Server Host.
This metric specifies the percentage of Memory Consumed by components other than the Oracle Virtual Directory Server.
This category shows whether the Oracle Virtual Directory instance is up and running or down and unavailable.
This metric specifies whether the Oracle Virtual Directory instance is up and running or down and unavailable.
The following table shows how often the metric's value is collected and compared against the default thresholds. The 'Consecutive Number of Occurrences Preceding Notification' column indicates the consecutive number of times the comparison against thresholds should hold TRUE before an alert is generated.
Target Version | Evaluation and Collection Frequency | Upload Frequency | Operator | Default Warning Threshold | Default Critical Threshold | Consecutive Number of Occurrences Preceding Notification | Alert Text |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
All Versions | Every Minute | After Every 60 Samples | = | Not Defined | 0 | 1 | The Oracle Virtual Directory instance is down |
This category defines the Oracle Virtual Directory Server Latency Metrics
This metric specifies the total number of all LDAP operations since the last collection.
This metric specifies the Average Time to complete an LDAP search request since the last Oracle Virtual Directory start.
This metric specifies the Maximum Time for Oracle Virtual Directory to complete a search request since its last start.
This metric specifies the Minimum Time for Oracle Virtual Directory to complete a search request since its last start.
This metric specifies the Number of LDAP Add Requests since the last collection.
This metric specifies the Number of LDAP Bind Requests since the last collection.
This metric specifies the Number of LDAP Delete Requests since the last collection.
This metric specifies the Number of LDAP Modify Requests since the last collection.
This category shows the Oracle Virtual Directory operational Metrics.
This metric specifies the Total number of distinct IP Addresses that are currently connected to Oracle Virtual Directory.
This metric specifies the Total number of users that are currently connected to Oracle Virtual Directory.
This metric specifies the Total number of all LDAP operations that have been completed from the last collection.
Set the maximum number of operations to allow for each connection by selecting Administration from the Oracle Virtual Directory menu and then Server Properties. Select the Enable Quota Enforcement option on the Server Properties page, enter the maximum number of operations to allow for each connection in the Maximum Operations per Connection field, and click Apply.
